It’s May, and the weather is perfect… so instead of an indoor meeting this month, the Craven County Democratic Party will be having a picnic instead, at Glenburnie Park on the banks of the beautiful Neuse River!

Please plan on joining us… kids are welcome and encouraged! This is a great opportunity to invite any friends or family who want to learn about more ways to get involved in the Democratic Party and take back our county, state, and country.

We’ll provide hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, beans, and beverages (iced tea, lemonade, and water)… please bring a side dish or a dessert to share.

We’ll be starting at 5:00 and ending at 6:30 (the park closes at 7:00).

Driving Directions

From Glenburnie Rd: Drive northeast toward the Neuse River. Turn right at Oaks Road, and turn left onto Glenburnie Drive. (This is the street where the National Guard Armory and WCTI-TV are located.) Drive to the end of the street and bear left into Glenburnie Park and follow the instructions below.

From Broad Street: Take George Street in the direction opposite Tryon Palace. Follow it over the railroad tracks where it becomes National Ave, and continue until the street name changes to Oaks Road. After one mile, Glenburnie Drive will be on your right… turn right and follow the instructions below.

Once you’re inside the park: Continue straight ahead and look for the JC shelter house on the right, overlooking the river, toward the rear of the park.
